As Thanksgiving approaches, we are filled with gratitude for each of our clients and our employees. This month’s employee feature is Stacy Goodrich.
Stacy has been with DWM since 2015 and is an Operations Assistant.
1) What do you like best about living in St. Pete?
St. Pete has the perfect mix of all of my favorite things! Amazing restaurants, wonderful concert venues, lots of open spaces, and of course, living on the water can’t be beat.
2) What do you like best about your day-to-day?
The best part of my job is the client interaction. I get to speak with clients regularly enough to get to know them on a more personal level. I love hearing about upcoming vacations, new home purchases, and updates on kids and grandkids.
3) When you aren’t working, what’s your ideal day?
I am happiest in, on or under the water. My ideal day would be waking up on a boat, strapping on my dive gear and spending the day exploring underwater.
4) Who has been most influential when it comes to your work?
I grew up watching both of my parents work and work hard. They taught me the importance of always staying focused on the big picture and keeping your employer moving forward. My work ethic definitely comes from them and I am fortunate to work for a company that makes it easy to want to come to work every day.
5) What’s an accomplishment you are most proud of in life?
In 2015 I decided to challenge myself mentally and physically and started training for the annual Swim Around Key West. It is a 12.5 mile open water swim around the key. The training involved a lot of early mornings, two-a-day swim sessions, weekend training swims from St. Pete Beach to Pass-a-Grill, and a very controlled diet (which was by far the hardest part!).
Unfortunately, the race was cancelled due to weather – but I was ready! The downfall is that I didn’t get the medal I was hoping to be able to show off, but I learned a lot about myself and just how strong I am. The timing hasn’t been right to try it again, but I have done some shorter open water swims and was even invited to complete the swim portion of the St. Anthony’s Triathlon for a relay team.
