What professional accomplishment are you most proud of?

The establishment of Doyle Wealth Management in 2005 with my husband and one employee, Brenda. I still remember that first day’s excitement mixed with a tad bit of reservation as Brenda and I worked at our second-hand desks while Bob sat at a folding card table calling clients. I wish I had taken a picture!

What are your passions outside of work?

I grew up in a family with parents who believed strongly in getting involved in the community to make it a better place for all residents, and I carry those same sentiments. I spend time volunteering with schools that have a large population of under-served children.

What personal accomplishment are you most proud of?

In 2015, I received the Virginia Lazzara Award. Named for a woman in St. Petersburg who was known for her devotion to our community, this award is given once a year to honor an individual for her community service.

What is one piece of advice you would give someone just starting out in investing?

Don’t allow your investment decisions to be ruled by emotion.

What was the first car you drove?

It wasn’t my very first car, but when I was in high school I had a 1969 Pontiac Firebird convertible, midnight blue with a white top and big burly V8 engine. That was to this day my coolest car.

Jay Rabideau, CFP®

Regional Director, Client Services

Jay Rabideau serves as a Regional Director of Client Services for Doyle Wealth Management, and brings over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry.

Jay began his career in 2008 at Raymond James Financial during one of the most challenging economic periods in recent history. Jay held several different roles within the Retirement Planning Department and spent nearly 5 years on the Fixed Income Trading Floor.

Prior to joining Doyle Wealth Management, Jay worked as the Regional Sales Director at Ameriprise Financial covering the central Florida region. He helped clients develop comprehensive financial plans and assisted them in identifying various investment options to suit their individual needs.

Originally from upstate New York, Jay was raised on the Florida Gulf Coast and attended college at the University of South Florida where he received a bachelor’s degree in Finance. Jay resides in the Lakewood Ranch area with his wife Kim and daughter Taylee. When time permits Jay enjoys golfing, volunteering, and vacationing in the Smoky Mountains.

What’s the biggest challenge when it comes to wealth management?

If I could sum it up with one word, it would be “emotions.” The stock market and events that influence it are very unpredictable and people tend to make irrational decisions during periods of high emotion. Furthermore, wealth management is at times erroneously defined as beating the stock market or chasing a segments of the market that have performed well. Instead, wealth management should be defined as an advisor-client partnership, where the advisor knows and understands their client’s situation, goals, and values. Wealth management is dynamic and unique to each individual client. Only after an advisor truly knows the client will they be able to help them effectively manage their financial emotions.

What’s one piece of advice you would give someone just starting out in investing?

I have to be a rebel and give two pieces of advice:

1) Set a realistic budget and stay disciplined.

2) Don’t wait until tomorrow to start saving. Regardless of your financial situation – put a plan together to start saving today and gratification will soon follow.

What was the weirdest food you’ve ever eaten?

My wife and I took a trip to the Turks & Caicos and spent the day on a private uninhabited island. During our boat ride on the way the captain suddenly dove into about 12 feet of water and pulled a fresh conch. When we arrived at the island he offered everyone a piece and I couldn’t say no. Fresh, raw conch… let’s just say I didn’t make that mistake again.

Anne Drake McMullen

Chief Development Officer

Anne Drake McMullen

Chief Development Officer

Anne Drake McMullen is the Chief Development Officer for Doyle Wealth Management and has worked for the firm since 2010.  Anne has been instrumental in advancing the presence of the firm in the St. Petersburg region through her services on the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce, St. Petersburg Economic Development Corporation, St. Petersburg Downtown Partnership, the Dali Museum Guild, Tiger Bay, Tampa Bay International, the Suncoasters, Craftsman Museum, Courageous Conversations, St. Anthony’s Hospital, and her church board.  Anne was born in Boston and brings with her a broad background after graduating from George Washington University and working in Washington, DC and Columbus, Ohio before moving to Pinellas County.

What professional accomplishment are you most proud of?

I am most proud of my leadership in the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce, receiving the Paul Getting Chamber Member of the Year Award in 2014 and being elected as Chamber Chair in 2018, the fourth woman Chair in its 119-year history.

What are you most proud of in your personal life?

It is an honor to be married to Neil McMullen, one of the Pioneer Founding Families of Pinellas County in 1845.  Two family McMullen homes can be visited at Heritage Village in Largo, and Neil’s grandfather, Don McMullen, was instrumental in creating Pinellas County which used to be known as West Hillsborough prior to 1912.

What are your passions outside of work?

I love spending every possible moment with my incredibly accomplished adult children and my grandchildren.  My son is serving a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Harvard & MIT for his work in genomics and cancer research; while my daughter works for the Department of Defense for Biological Threat Prevention.

What was your most memorable experience?

I was privileged to take a four-week sabbatical exploring the entire country of Greece and rediscovering my Greek heritage.  Incredibly, I discovered the four small villages from where my grandparents emigrated in the early 1900’s and wondrously found immediate family members in three out of the four villages. It was a profound opportunity to resume the connections lost when my grandparents passed away long ago.

Todd B. Youngs, CFA

Director Of Portfolio Management & Senior Wealth Manager

Todd Youngs is the Director of Portfolio Management at Doyle Wealth Management. He has over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. He began his career at Merrill Lynch as a Registered Client Associate. From there, he went on to work at Franklin Templeton Investments, where he held various roles, the last of which was Senior Analyst in the Global Product Strategy group. Most recently, he served as a Research Analyst with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

Todd was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2011. He is also a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Tampa Bay Society. He earned a dual MBA and MS in Finance from the John Sykes College of Business at the University of Tampa. He completed his undergraduate work in Computer Science and Business Administration at Furman University in Greenville, SC.

Outside of work, Todd enjoys woodworking and running. He lives in St. Petersburg with his wife and two children.

Why did you get into this profession?

I was first introduced to investing by my grandmother. I would always sit next to her on the couch when she visited and she would tell me about the companies she owned while looking at the newspaper. In my sophomore year of college, I started asking a lot of questions during an internship. My bosses gave me books to read and gave me access to all the research I wanted. I was hooked; I would spend hours in front of a computer reading about companies and scouring through their financial reports. After college I moved through various roles in the financial services industry: assisting advisors, mutual fund sales, product management, consulting, and research. I discovered through my experiences that I gained a feeling of satisfaction and a huge sense of accomplishment in helping people.

What are your passions outside of work?

If I am not spending time with my family, my latest obsession is golf. I also enjoy woodworking. I keep telling myself I want to run another marathon but that hasn’t happened yet.

What’s one piece of advice you would give someone just starting out in investing?

It’s hard to narrow it down to just one thing. Howard Marks from Oaktree Capital once said, “The riskiest kind of market is the one where investors believe there is no risk.” There are a few lessons that someone can derive from this quote: do your homework and know what you own; don’t get caught up in the hype and let your emotions take control; and just because an investment has done well in the past doesn’t mean it will continue to do well going forward.

In her spare time, Cassandra enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, and most importantly, family time. She is married to Kevin and has two energetic young daughters, Addison and Meghan.

Why did you get into this profession?

The best advice I ever received came from my mother who said, “The only thing in life that no one can ever take away from you is your education.” I took that to heart when trying to find my career path. I went back to school to earn an MBA with a Finance concentration and landed a job with an investment company. Through many conversations with clients during the exuberance of the real estate boom to the calamity in the markets that soon followed, I realized that investing is more than just buy this, sell that. It became personal. These accounts were their life savings, their retirement funds, and college accounts for their grandkids. Each had a purpose and a story to tell. The more knowledgeable I became about investing, the more I realized how much more there is to learn. I wanted to share the importance of sound financial advice and diligent investing with my clients to help them avoid the downfalls of timing the market and mistakes that cost life savings. I studied to earn the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and Chartered Financial Analyst designations. I am very proud of those achievements, and they now make nice art on my office walls, but there’s so much more to it than that. I know that I am in this profession today because I want to be a part of the journey in helping each client achieve financial freedom, to retire comfortably and know that they have peace of mind throughout any market that lies ahead.

What are your passions outside of work?

I have two energetic, young daughters that are my whole world. We spend a lot of family time swimming in the pool, chasing them around our neighborhood golf course, riding bikes, and any activity that allows them to burn off tons of energy. Sometimes my weekends are more exhausting than the work week!

What’s one piece of advice you would give someone just starting out in investing?

Work hard, SAVE HARD, play hard! If you save 10-20% of your income now, you will be able to enjoy many more years of your choice of fun!

Describe your dream vacation.

Italy… All of it! From the romantic gondola ride with my hubby, photo opp holding up the Tower of Pisa, view the masterpiece that is the Sistine Chapel, experience Vatican City, the architecture of the Duomo, and everything magnificent in between. I’m all ears if you know how to see it best!

Amy Powell, CFA

Amy L. Powell is a Senior Wealth Manager at Doyle Wealth Management. She has over ten years of experience in the financial services industry and investment management.

She began her career as a research analyst with Raymond James Financial, Inc., with a particular focus on sector and international mutual funds. From there, Amy went on to work for the asset management team at Transamerica Corp., which was responsible for the oversight of Transamerica’s mutual fund, annuity, and retirement plan products.

Amy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Central Florida and was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2010. She is also a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Tampa Bay Society. In her free time, Amy is a fitness enthusiast and active participant in local tennis leagues and tournaments.

What are your passions outside of work?

I love to play tennis, and St. Petersburg has several great local leagues and tournaments for all levels of play. It’s a fun way to fit in some exercise, and the leagues provide great motivation to keep improving your game. I’m also a huge animal lover; growing up I always thought I’d become a veterinarian. I have owned various kinds of pets throughout my life and enjoy supporting local animal-related organizations.

What’s the one piece of advice you would give someone just starting out in investing?

Start NOW. One of my favorite quotes is the proverb: “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.” Time is one of your biggest allies when it comes to investing. Many people put it off because they don’t know how to get started or feel overwhelmed by the process. If that describes you, seek help! There are so many great resources available these days; there’s really no excuse not to start as soon as possible so you can secure a stable financial future for you and your family.

What are your three favorite foods?

I love international cuisine, but my favorites are probably Indian and Mexican. I also have an insatiable sweet tooth, so I love pretty much anything chocolate!

Chris Jay serves as a Senior Wealth Manager at Doyle Wealth Management. He brings over eight years of experience in the financial services industry. As a Certified Financial Planning practitioner, his expertise is working with clients to review their retirement, insurance, tax, and estate planning needs, and working with them to create an investment strategy that aligns with each client’s unique goals and preferences

After graduating from Flagler College in St. Augustine with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Chris began his career with Fidelity Investments in 2007 in various roles, but most recently as a Financial Consultant, managing $400M in assets under administration. He helped clients develop retirement income plans, and helped them consider investment and income options.

Prior to working with Doyle Wealth Management, Chris was a Client Advisor at Mercer Global Advisors. He also served in a holistic advisory role, working with about 70 high net worth families. In addition to developing their investment strategy from a suite of options, he also reviewed estate plans, tax returns, and insurance needs to work with clients’ attorneys, CPAs, and insurance agents to educate and guide clients on their overall financial journey.

Why did you get into this profession?

I got into financial services in November 2007. Little did I know the market had peaked a month earlier and we would endure our generation’s worst stock market decline in the coming 16 months. I learned two things from that very difficult time in the market.

The first was that the stock market can be wild, illogical and scary sometimes. The second was that during that time, the number on the bottom of that statement wasn’t just a loss of capital for many clients. It was a fear that they may not be able to pay for their kids’ college, possibly never retire, or run out of money before they run out of time.

I’m a financial advisor because I wanted to be trusted by our clients to provide unbiased advice, guidance, and direction in their financial lives. I want to put them in a position to achieve all the goals they’ve set.

What are your passions outside of work?

Outside of work, my main passion is spending time with my family.  My wife Nicole and I have a daughter named Henley and a son named Greyson.  We also have two whippets that love to run.  When we’re not here locally spending time at the dog park or beach, we also love to travel. I love hearing about all of my clients travel experiences so that we can narrow down our next destination.

What’s one piece of advice you would give someone just starting out in investing?

Save early, Save often. There are a number of different pieces that talk about the power of compounding, and the more you let your money work, the less you have to. Trying to max out an employer-sponsored 401(k) or 403(b) is a great start. If you can do that, then try to make maximum contributions to an IRA. You’ll be amazed by how quickly it adds up.

Andrew and his wife Traci reside in downtown Saint Petersburg, and in his spare time can be found playing a local golf course, fishing from his stand-up paddle board, or taking in all the vast cultural attractions that St. Pete has to offer.

Why did you get into this profession?

I got into this profession because I wanted to help people gain a better understanding of investing, retirement income and their relationship with money. I had seen so many people that were receiving “advice” from advisors that didn’t have their client’s best interest in mind. Once I found the Fiduciary investment side of the investment world, I realized I had found my calling. Being a Fiduciary for my clients means that their needs and goals are most important, and we work everyday to go the extra mile for our clients.

If you knew you could not fail, what would you do?

I would be in a rock band on a world tour. This is more of a dream than anything because I have virtually no musical talent…unless you hear me singing alone in the car.

One goal that I’m saving for is…

This is a long time away, but I would love to buy and retire on a large piece of land in East Tennessee or the hill country of Texas.

What is your favorite book or movie?

My favorite book is The Alchemist by Paolo Coelho – the book’s theme of self-realization and the significance of Santiago’s personal journey is a message most anyone would benefit from hearing at least once in their lives.

Why did you get into this profession?

I am a naturally very caring person and even as a child knew that I wanted to be in a profession where I could help others. I became passionate about finance at a very young age when my parents introduced me to the concept of tax deferral via their 401k. Unfortunately, not a lot of people had an opportunity to learn about starting to save early. My goal in this profession has always been to educate and help others.

Tell us a little bit about your family…

My household is immensely diverse. I am fluent in Russian and my wife is fluent in Spanish. My wife and I have always made an effort to learn each other’s native languages. Our sons have grown up accustomed to both dialects and cultures.

When people look at me, they would never guess that I…

Unbeknownst to many, I have a passion for music. I began with a minor hobby as a Disc Jockey using turntables and vinyl records early on in high school. Soon enough, I was the primary Disc Jockey for many major events held on Cape Cod. I still enjoy playing music on my records. My sons have also inherited my love for music.

One goal I’m saving for is…

To buy a sailboat. I learned to sail when I was 10, and I love to be on the water. I’ve heard you should name your sailboat after a woman, so I’m going to name my boat, “Laurel Ann,” after my mother.

Describe your dream vacation:

As I said, I love to be on the water, so my dream vacation would be sailing around the Caribbean island-hopping. I love Caribbean food, music, and the people are wonderful. They also have world-class beaches, golf courses, and the fishing isn’t too bad either.

If you had your own talk show, who would your first three guests be?

My first guest would be Michael Jordan. MJ is the world’s greatest competitor and winner, and his insights into the mindset of a champion would be intriguing. My second guest would be George Clooney, mostly because he’s the most interesting man in the world. My last guest would be Warren Buffett of course, for his wisdom and knowledge about business.

What are your passions outside of work?

My simple passions in life are enjoying the outdoors and the eccentricities of St. Pete. I love to go out to the bay with a book, hammock, and a guitar to spot the dolphins that swim by, or to get away for the weekend and camp at the natural springs in central Florida.

Describe your dream vacation.

I want to take an extended winter vacation in a cabin in Norway. Whale watching and the northern lights would be a nice change of pace from the Florida Gulf Coast lifestyle.

What was your worst summer or part-time job?

My worst part-time job was as a parking attendant for football games at the University of Florida.  While all my friends were setting up tailgates, I would get up several hours early and stand in a corner of campus in a bright orange vest to direct traffic.  I’d have to sprint to the stadium with a change of clothes to catch the game after my shift was over.

What do you love most about being part of Doyle Wealth Management?

Hands-down, the best part of Doyle Wealth Management is the people who work here. In my role as an Operations Manager, I have the opportunity to ensure the overall success of the team, and it is an absolute pleasure to do so. The staff is extremely capable and knowledgeable.

What is your favorite book or movie?

My favorite movie is the classic 1958 film Auntie Mame, which stars the amazing Rosalind Russell. I always watch it whenever I need a laugh. “Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death!”

Describe your dream vacation.

I’m not sure I can put my finger on why, but I have always dreamt of vacationing in the heart of the Gobi desert in Mongolia. There’s something extremely calming about looking out and seeing nothing but sand dunes as far as the eye can see. I also hear that Mongolians are a (literally) warm and friendly people.

What do you love most about being part of Doyle Wealth Management?

There are plenty of things to list, but I would have to say that I love the people here the most. I have been working in the financial industry for over 28 years, and I’ve never enjoyed my work more than I have at DWM.

What are your passions outside of work?

When I’m not in the office, you can often find me out sailing with my family. We have a boat that we take out to catch the salty Gulf breezes, and it is always a ton of fun to fish, watch the dolphins play in our wake, and plunder unsuspecting ships.

If you had your own talk show, who would your first three guests be?

I think it would have to be 4 people – Albert Einstein, Henry Kissinger, Mahatma Gandhi, and the Dalai Lama.

What do you love most about being part of Doyle Wealth Management?

Getting to know our clients! Because I don’t deal with the financial aspect of the business, my interaction with the clients tends to be a bit more relaxed. I get to hear about travel plans, grandkids, new cars – you name it. We have a very eclectic client base and I enjoy getting to know each and every one!

What’s one piece of advice you would give someone just starting out in investing?

It is never too early to start investing in yourself and your future. No matter what your budget constraints are, always pay yourself first and understand the importance of living within your means. Set aside some amount of money each paycheck (even if only a few dollars), and let that money work for you.

One goal that I’m saving for is….

A trip back to Australia for my husband and I. From 2006-2010 we lived in Sydney, Australia, and during those four years, we made so many lifelong friends and experienced so many magical moments. We hope to get back and visit for a month in 2019 to rekindle those friendships and experiences.

When people look at me, they would never guess that…

I am a grandmother of 6!
